The painful sting of rejection...

I thought we had a good thing going with Grace Hill Media. Turns out they have (quite understandably!) moved on to more populated waters. I found this post by Josh Claybourn at blogs4god.com (excerpts):

In the mail today I received the pilot episode of NBC's six-hour series "Revelations" which is set to premier Wednesday, April 13 (9-10pm ET) on NBC. Public relations firm Grace Hill Media has distributed the pilot to select Christian bloggers in an effort to tap into the power of the blogosphere.

Christians often complain about a lack of representation in mainstream media, but they often fail to admit that modern Christian shows often lack quality screenplays, acting, and production. Such is not the case with "Revelations." which offers a refreshingly well-made series putting Christianity in a positive light. It's truly a production that both Christians and secularists will enjoy.

It's obviously two days old, and I came across it by chance. Surprisingly, I didn't see it on ITA, Claybourn's main blog. I haven't heard anything from GraceHill for a while, which is slightly disappointing. The inevitable is happening--grass-roots blogging campaigns are being replaced by a hierarchized system of 'culture reviewers.' Marketers have to place their product before the most sets of eyes possible, which means it will be increasingly difficult for smaller blogs (such as this one) to take advantage of some of the opportunities blogging has opened up. The more links a blog gets, the better chance it has of getting cool stuff for free.
