The Excorcism of Emily Rose

A new film you might want to know about... "Christianity Today magazine says: “Scott Derrickson, co-writer and director of the upcoming film The Exorcism of Emily Rose, says horror movies are an excellent way for a Christian filmmaker to address things of faith.” Scott Derrickson is a graduate of Biola’s film school and his feature film The Exorcism of Emily Rose opens on 2,500 screens this Friday, September 9th. Scott is a screenwriter—and a Christian—he has worked on quite a few films. You'll note how seriously it treats the supernatural and the reality of evil. This will be a great discussion starter on all kinds of spiritual questions. The Emily Rose website even has a section dedicated to issues of 'faith vs. science.' The Exorcism of Emily Rose Christianity Today has done a feature article on Scott and the movie: http://www.christianitytoday.com/movies/interviews/scottderrickson.html See the trailer for this thriller at: http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/theexorcismofemilyrose/index.html"

I know I harp on this book all the time, but Michael Cuneo's American Exorcism, despite its flaws, is a fascinating treatment of the subject.
